Clinton boys basketball beats Blissfield in LCAA play

CLINTON — After a loss against Columbia Central to open Lenawee County Athletic Association play, Clinton bounced back with a 56-45 win against Blissfield.

Landon Busz scored a season high 17 points, making four 3-pointers as the Redwolves moved to 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in league play.

Grant Stockford added 11 points and Jalsen Stelzer added 10.

Clinton held a 15-12 lead after the first and, in the second, both defenses stepped up as the Redwolves led 21-15 at the half. Clinton slowly pulled away from Blissfield in the second half as it led 36-27 going into the fourth.

For Blissfield, Owen Smith scored 13 points. The Royals are 0-2 overall and in league play.

Onsted 54, Columbia Central 38: At Brooklyn, the Wildcats are 5-0 heading into a holiday tournament in Ohio Dec. 28.

Dayton Henagan scored 18 points and had five rebounds and four assists in Friday’s LCAA win while sophomore Ayden Davis had 17 points and 21 rebounds.

Harry Moore scored six points and had six assists while Aidan Pauquin had eight points for Onsted, which is now 2-0 in league play.

Lenawee Christian 58, Inter-City Baptist 44: At Allen Park, Tyler VanEtten hit six 3-pointers and scored 26 points to lead the Cougars to the road win.

VanEtten hit four of his triples in the middle two quarters as the Cougars built a lead by outscoring the Chargers 36-17 in those 16 minutes of action.

LCS is 3-0 and will host Blissfield Tuesday.

Inter-City won the JV game, 61-45.

Hillsdale 49, Hudson 39: At Hillsdale, the Hornets are 2-0 under first-year coach Marc Comstock after beating the Tigers by 10 in LCAA play.

Hudson was led by Easten Stodtman, who scored 13 points and Blake Tremaine, who hit three 3-pointers and finished with 10 points.

Hudson (0-3, 0-2 LCAA) hosts Morenci Tuesday.
