Chris Parson, Mississippi State football's top 2023 commit, out with leg injury after surgery

Mississippi State football four-star quarterback commitment Chris Parson will miss at least Week 7 of the Tennessee high school football season at Ravenwood after sustaining an undisclosed leg injury.

The injury occurred during the final minutes of the Raptors' 27-10 win over Hendersonville last week. Parson is the highest-rated commitment in Mississippi State coach Mike Leach's 2023 class.

"There is no timetable for when I'll be back," Parson toldThe Tennessean. He did not specify on details on the injury. "I had surgery on Tuesday. I'm making tremendous strides and I'm feeling great. I have no pain.

"I was given crutches just in case. But I'm walking without them."
