Chicago White Sox pick UNCW's Brooks Baldwin in 12th round of 2022 MLB Draft
The Chicago White Sox selected Brooks Baldwin on day three of the 2022 MLB Draft in the 12th round Tuesday.
The third baseman from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington proved his skills last season after being named the 2022 Colonial Athletic Associations player of the year.
Batting .348 in his final year with the Seahawks, the Whiteville native is listed as a third baseman by the White Sox despite never playing the position for UNCW.
The switch-hitter also shined in high school at Whiteville, where he caught for San Diego Padres pitcher Mackenzie Gore.

Baldwin, a redshirt junior, was drafted by the San Francisco Giants last year but chose not to sign with the team.
