The Chicago Architecture Foundation Center’s river cruise on the First Lady kicked off its 29th season on April 1. The tour has won numerous accolades and is viewed by many as a “must-do” activity when in Chicago.

Operated in partnership with Chicago’s First Lady Cruises and the Chicago Architecture Center, the 90-minute excursion takes passengers down three branches of the Chicago River and gives them a view of a variety of the architectural styles seen in the city — art deco, neoclassicism, midcentury modernism, and postmodernism. Guests can take in unobstructed views of the city’s skyscrapers as CAC volunteer docents narrate the trip.

The cruise also highlights local businesses by offering local food and beverages for purchase, such as drinks from Revolution Brewing and Metropolis Coffee.

The cruise departs from the Michigan Avenue Bridge at Wacker Drive on the Riverwalk; tickets for daytime cruises start at $51.96, while tickets for evening cruises start at $52.91. More information at 1-800-982-2787 or cruisechicago.com
