Buckeye student places in top 10 at HOSA conference
A Buckeye Career Center student has become the first ever BCC HOSA member to place in the top 10 at the HOSA Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference.
Incoming senior Erika Kugler was called to the stage for placing within the top 10 out of 119 competitors in the Life Support Skills contest. She is enrolled in BCC’s Exercise Science & Sports Medicine program and attends from New Philadelphia. Kugler qualified for the international competition after placing third at the Ohio HOSA Leadership Conference this past spring. She is instructed by Mr. Jamey Harlan. The international conference was held in Nashville, Tennessee June 22-25.
Several other BCC students also attended and competed at the international competition. They included Lauren Ferguson (Intro to Nursing/Claymont), Kaylee Taralla (Intro to Nursing/New Phila), Austin Gump (Exercise Science/Dover), Ryder Rothel (Intro to Nursing/Garaway), Annabelle Lipinski (Intro to Nursing/New Phila), Kanzis Robin (Intro to Nursing/Dover), Haley Gump (Intro to Nursing/New Phila), Cassidy Green (Exercise Science/TCC), Adam Walker (Exercise Science/Conotton Valley), Colette Brown (Exercise Science/Conotton Valley), Addison Guy (Intro to Nursing/Newcomerstown), Gabby Kellar (Intro to Nursing/Claymont), and Kamree Lindon (Intro to Nursing/Indian Valley).
HOSA-Future Health Professionals is a global student-led organization, whose mission is to promote career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
