Who is Brewers owner Mark Attanasio and does Giannis Antetokounmpo now own a piece of the franchise?
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo became the 17th member of the Milwaukee Brewers ownership group in 2021 and the first newcomer to the fray since the team was purchased by Los Angeles-based investor Mark Attanasio in 2005.
Giannis followed up an NBA Finals MVP performance by announcing he was joining the ownership team in August. Now, he's gearing up for a new NBA season and another playoff run simultaneously.
It mirrors the move by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers buying a minority stake in the Bucks.
The Brewers don't reveal the names of those who are among the minority ownership group, but fans of the team have seen Attanasio appear at games regularly since he purchased the squad.

Who is Mark Attanasio?
The co-founder of Crescent Capital Group, Attanasio purchased the Brewers for $223 million (with the agreement in 2004 and the sale going through in 2005); today, Forbes estimates that the Brewers are worth $1.2 billion, ranked 24th in the league in worth.
The 64-year-old, born and raised in the Bronx, grew up a New York Yankees fan. As of a year ago, he's reportedly worth $700 million.
He's spoken before about keeping the Brewers in the family, potentially involving his sons, Mike and Dan, down the road.
Mark's father, Joe Attanasio, was an actor who appeared in movies such as "Sleepers," and he sang the national anthem before every home opener at Miller Park before his death in 2015. Brother Paul Attanasio is a Hollywood writer who penned the screenplay for movies such as "Quiz Show," "Donnie Brasco" and "Sphere" and also created TV shows "Gideon's Crossing" and "Homicide: Life on the Street." He was the executive producer of smash hit "House."
Who are the other Brewers owners?
The Brewers don't make a full list of minority investors publicly available, but one of them is Harris Turer, who's also the principal owner of the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team and has been involved in Brewers ownership since 1996. Turer is the grandson of Master Lock founder Harry Soref and a Milwaukee native.
The Milwaukee Business Journal also has reported that members of the Lubar, Marcus and Uihlein families are in the ownership team, as well.
