Boston Red Sox game, Northern Trust finale in New York postponed by Tropical Storm Henri

Tropical Storm Henri is threatening parts of the East Coast with up to 10 inches of rain and causing postponements of sporting events in the area.

The storm was downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm Sunday morning as it made landfall in eastern Long Island and southern New England. Sustained winds of up to 70 miles per hour have been reported.

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio declared a state of emergency Saturday and similar warnings were issued in Boston, Connecticut and Rhode Island. On Friday, a superstar-laden concert in Central Park headlined by Bruce Springsteen was cut short due to severe weather.

Boston's Nathan Eovaldi had been scheduled to start Sunday's game before it was postponed by Tropical Storm Henri.
