If you are looking for a series to get involved in, check out Catherine Coulter’s FBI thrillers. “Vortex” is 25th in the series and fans will find it as strong as ever.

As the author shifts between her patented parallel storylines, star FBI agents Lacey Sherlock and husband Dillion Savich each are involved in separate investigations. In fact, Sherlock has two. When she is called to New York to help find evidence convicting a shifty serial killer, she ends up becoming primary in a cold case that newspaper journalist Mia Briscoe has stumbled into. Mia’s friend has been missing and presumed dead since they were in college. While preparing to cover the campaign of a mayoral candidate, Mia finds evidence of foul play that heats up the search for answers in the case.

Meanwhile back in Washington, Savich is brought into a case involving CIA operatives, deadly international assassins and a mole inside the agency itself. He not only has to find the assassins, he has to wind his way through the politics between the FBI and CIA.

Two exciting and well-played storylines that will keep you entertained into the night.

Tim O’Connell lives in Ponte Vedra Beach.
