Black Friday 2019: Best travel deals for hotels, flights, tours and luggage

The Black Friday for travel discounts actually falls on Tuesday, Dec. 3, also known as Travel Deal Tuesday.

That’s the best day in the post-Thanksgiving spending spree to score deals on flights and hotels, according to Hopper. Online travel agencies, airlines, hotels and luggage companies promote their own sales to appeal to those traveling home for the holidays or planning 2020 adventures.

But you can plan ahead, and, in some cases, reap savings even before Travel Deal Tuesday begins.

Flights

The airline industry has remained tight-lipped and hasn’t offered any teaser fares, but Hopper predicts travelers headed to Tokyo, Sydney, Beijing, Iceland, Costa Rica, Cape Town, Montreal, and London in 2020 can expect the best discounts.

To capitalize on upcoming bargains, use airfare price monitors like Hopper, SkyScanner or Airfare Watchdog. Travelers also can expect U.S. carriers Alaska Airlines and Delta to promote deals starting on Black Friday, Nov. 29.
