Jordan Poyer doesn’t sound against signing with Dolphins (video)

If Jordan Poyer leaves the Buffalo Bills, it doesn’t mean he’s going to depart the AFC East.

He might even have a spot in mind.

The defensive back admitted on his podcast that he isn’t against the idea of signing with the Bills’ rival, the Miami Dolphins.

“It would be crazy to stay in the [AFC] East — to come down here to South Florida,” Poyer said, revealing that he was set to attend the birthday of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa last weekend. “I know [Miami head coach] Mike McDaniel will be in there. Mike McDaniel and I go back to Cleveland.”

Poyer is one of Buffalo’s top pending free agents. A talented player entering his age 32 season, Poyer is understandably looking to potentially cash in one last time in his NFL career.

That might be a tough pill for the Bills to swallow since they’re already over next year’s salary cap.

Equally understandable: Folks in Buffalo won’t be too happy with his candor about joining the Dolphins.

In addition to acknowledging his friendships already built in Miami, Poyer noted lower taxes in Florida and the weather in South Beach as other positives.

“I’d love to go a state that doesn’t take half my money,” Poyer said. “It would be nice to see the sun, maybe every week or so — every other week at least.”
