Here are the benefits you'll receive with new Saturday digital newspaper

Back in January The Portsmouth Herald and Foster’s Daily Democrat announced that starting on Saturday, March 5, each Saturday’s paper would be digital only and that we would cease printing and delivering the print edition of the Saturday paper.

With Saturday, March 5 fast approaching; we wanted to remind readers of some of the benefits they will begin receiving along with the new e-Edition of the Saturday paper.

First, fans of the daily comics will be pleased to know that starting Saturday, readers of Foster’s and the Herald will begin receiving several new daily comics in addition to those they have been receiving for the past few years. Readers of Foster’s will now get to enjoy the classic strips Peanuts, Shoe and Hagar The Horrible along with Lio, a newer strip, while Herald readers will notice the addition of Mother Goose and Grimm, Red & Rover and Wumo. With these changes, our daily comics will now match the robust offerings each week in Seacoast Sunday.

Starting Saturday we will also begin offering a more robust and better organized selection of puzzles and features, including a crossword, Jumble, Sudoku, bridge column, Celebrity Cipher, horoscope and more. You’ll be especially glad to know that our Sunday paper will continue to offer both the New York Times and the LA Times Sunday crosswords.

Dear Abby will make a triumphant return, and dispense advice on life’s challenges large and small, replacing Dear Annie. Instead of the antiquated TV programming grids, we will be offering a daily “What to Watch” column to help you find the best programming for your precious free time.

Other benefits that come with your e-Edition of the Portsmouth Herald and Foster’s Daily Democrat include:

UNIVERSAL E-EDITION ACCESS: Subscribers can now access more than 200 USA TODAY Network publications through their e-Editions. Simply go to your e-Edition (either seacoastonline.com/eedition or fosters.com/eedition) and select the Universal icon on the right rail. From there, you can choose a publication to read. This access is available through the desktop or e-Edition app. As a reminder, the electronic edition of USA TODAY is also available every day as a bonus section.

NEW NATIONAL SECTIONS: New to the e-Edition are two daily sections –– Nation & World Extra and Sports Extra. This content will be inserted into the e-Edition pages but can also be found in the Bonus section. News in these sections will not be found in the corresponding day’s printed newspaper due to the lateness of the news and print deadlines. Nation & World Extra is now appearing with every morning's e-Edition, and Sports Extra, the companion section with late sports scores and agate, will launch this Saturday.

SHARE YOUR DIGITAL ACCESS: As a subscriber, you can share your subscription with a friend or family member. They will receive their own login and can access it as long as you remain a subscriber. Go to account.at seacoastonline.com or fosters.com and make sure you are logged in (in the top right corner, you should see a button labeled "Hi *your name*” if you are already logged in. If not, click on the button for “Sign In.”). Next, select your name and go to “Manage Account." In the left-hand menu, look for “Share digital subscription." Click on that and enter in the name and e-mail address of the person to share access. An e-mail will be sent to their inbox with further instructions on setting up their own credentials.

Anyone with questions about the change can access their account at https://cm.seacoastonline.com/subscribe-manage or https://cm.fosters.com/subscribe-manage or call customer service at 1-888-736-4061.

If you'd like to provide feedback on the changes, please send an email to news@seacoastonline.com.
