The Ballard football team had two players given all-state honors for the 2021 season by the Iowa Print Writers Association.

Defensive end Nick Wacha and offensive tackle Kale Krogh were the two Ballard players named all-state in Class 3A. Both players were instrumental in helping a young Bomber team overcome a 0-2 start to reach the playoffs for the second year in a row and finish 5-5 overall.

Wacha made the first team after recording 59.5 tackles, 13 stops behind the line, three sacks and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. Krogh landed on the second team after the Iowa recruit fought through injuries to anchor the Bomber offensive line.
