Arrest made in connection vandalism of veterans' memorial at Beaver's Clark Park

BEAVER — After a search across the borough for information, an arrest has been made in the vandalism of the Clark Park Veterans Memorial.

The borough originally announced the memorial was vandalized ahead of Memorial Day weekend, asking residents in the community to share information for a potential reward. On May 31, the borough updated its social media pages to reflect it had found a suspect who may have caused the vandalism.

"Thanks to the cooperation of residents, an arrest has been made for the vandalism of the Clark Park Memorial and the reward of $500 has been issued," the borough said via Facebook on Tuesday. "Thank you to all who shared the post to find who was responsible."

The vandalism of the Clark Park Memorial was first noticed on May 22, when nearby residents reported someone had spray painted the monument's pillars with white letters that spell ”wryu.” The graffiti was cleaned off of the memorial's surface by the afternoon of May 23.
