But the criticism hasn't stopped.
NFL writers and media members continued to blast the organization for the move in the aftermath of its decision to take out the clause.

“This is a mark of an unserious organization. ...I think it will be a storyline for the Cardinals throughout the year, and unfortunately, it could follow Kyler further.”

The Arizona Cardinals as an organization have handled the Kyler Murray contract situation like an entity who has never been in the world of high-pressure decision making. And it shows.
No longer is Kyler Murray the butt of the jokes. But this too shall pass. On to Week 1.— Alex Clancy (@ClancysCorner) July 29, 2022
.@chris_broussard isn’t sure the stain of this ‘independent study clause’ is going away for Arizona.
“If they start the season well, this could become a footnote. But if Kyler Murray plays poorly and the Cardinals have a bad season, they could eventually have to divorce.” pic.twitter.com/06QspYGSvx— First Things First (@FTFonFS1) July 29, 2022
The homework clause story made everyone involved look worse, made a national news story out of a small and embarrasssing request and ended with a solution that causes more questions than answers. Don't you ever say football is not the most beautiful thing on earth.

Cardinals say Murray homework clause was "perceived in ways we never intended." Huh??
They mandated a clause saying their adult quarterback could lose up to $150M in guarantees for not doing team-monitored homework every week for the next 7 years.
What exactly did they intend?— Andrew Brandt (@AndrewBrandt) July 29, 2022
Sorry, Arizona Cardinals: Too late for that. The damage is done, to you and to him.

Good Read:
"There are four key people in the organization — Bidwill, Murray, General Manager Steve Keim and coach Kliff Kingsbury — and until they find some symbiosis, the Cardinals will remain a powder keg."https://t.co/RQT4h3e7va— Stephen Lambert (@sml41) July 29, 2022
Michael Bidwill came out of this thing looking worse than Kyler Murray, in my opinion.
