money Area Roundup: Riverside Prep beats San Gorgonio to reach the CIF-SS Div. 5A semifinals
The Riverside Prep girls basketball team is heading to the CIF-Southern Section semifinals for the first time in school history.
The Silver Knights pulled off a 42-36 victory on the road against San Gorgonio in the quarterfinals of the Division 5A playoffs Wednesday night.
The Silver Knights (26-3) trailed by two entering the second quarter, but held San Gorgonio to two points and took a 13-point lead by halftime.
San Gorgonio tied the game entering the fourth quarter as the Silver Knights went scoreless in the third quarter.
But Riverside Prep ended the game scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter, led by Mya Graham’s 10 points.
Graham ended with a game-high 19 points, while teammates Marissa Torres and Logann Ravare each scored five points.
San Gorgonio’s Jaylen Russell nearly matched Graham with 18 points.
Riverside Prep, on an 18-game winning streak, returns home for the semifinals on Saturday, against St. Monica Prep, which beat Malibu 43-20 in the quarterfinals. St. Monica Prep (21-3) is on a 13-game winning streak.

Silverado 60, Aquinas 40
At San Bernardino, Elizabeth Udeze dropped 24 points Wednesday night to lead the Hawks into the semifinals of the CIF-SS Div. 4AA playoffs.
The difference maker proved to be the third quarter as Silverado outscored Aquinas 20-3. The Hawks led by four points at halftime.
Bella Rincon, a freshman, followed right behind Udeze with 18 points. Silverado also got eight points from Nitzel Cuen and seven from Belinda Rincon.
Silverado (20-2) is home against Rialto, which beat La Habra 65-57 in the quarterfinals.
The teams faced off in the Serrano Tournament on Dec. 27, with Rialto (26-2) topping Silverado 62-48. That’s the last time Silverado lost, and is currently on an 11-game winning streak.
In the loss, Udeze scored 19 points, while Carrington Davis led Rialto with 34 points.
