Annie Lennox, 67, Shows Off Her First Tattoo Ever
Sweet dreams are made of this!
No regrets! At 67, Annie Lennox got her first tattoo!
The "Sweet Dreams" singer showed off her first piece of ink on Instagram on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
"Got my first tattoo," she simply captioned the photo, crediting Asa Lee Crow IV at Shamrock Social Club with the impressive work, which features a red heart surrounded by two black hummingbirds.
Lennox did not reveal what inspired the design, or whether there was a personal story behind it, but based on a previous Instagram post, it's clear that hummingbirds might be the Eurythmics singer's favorite type of bird.
The singer, songwriter, and political activist's Instagram page is largely inspired by nature, and earlier this year, she shared a video of a hummingbird, writing, "I have the privilege of watching these delightful hummingbirds every day. They're wonderful, magical and miraculous and bring joy to everyone who sees them."
The post elaborated that the "expansion and intensification of agriculture is putting pressure on 73% of species. Logging, invasive species, exploitation of natural resources and climate breakdown are the other main threats."
Honing in on the possibility of extinction, she concluded: "A world without birds..just ONE miraculous life species, is unthinkable."
Lennox getting her first tat invigorated her fan base, who took to the comments to point out that it was a reminder that it's "never too late" to live your best life.
"Rock n Roll Annie," a fan exclaimed, while others chimed in with variations of "beautiful" and "love it."
When a fan asked the singer where the tattoo was located, she openly responded: "Behind my hip…😎"
