Amazon reveals Prime Day dates

Amazon is out with new dates for its annual "Prime Day" shopping event, after its original date was pushed back due to COVID-19. Yahoo Finance's Dan Howley joins Kristin Myers to break down the details.

KRISTIN MYERS: Well, Amazon's Prime Day is coming. So for more on this, we're joined now by Yahoo Finance's techpert, Dan Howley. Hey, Dan.

DAN HOWLEY: Hey, Kristin. That's right. Prime Day is coming. It's going to be October 13th and 14th, and basically, what we're going to see is the same kind of sales that we've seen in the past. Right now, there are some sales already going on on certain Amazon items. That's, you know, the kind of slew of Alexa power devices that they have are all ready being marked down.

And then as we get closer to Prime Day we'll likely see additional sales. It's also important to note that with Prime Day being an Amazon exclusive event, other companies like to try to jump on board to push their own sales, to take away from Amazon. So look for sales at places like Walmart and Target on the same day. It should be good. So happy shopping.

KRISTIN MYERS: Happy shopping indeed. Thanks so much, Dan.
