Air Jordan 12 ‘Dark Concord’ Gets a First Look

Jordan Brand is reportedly giving sneaker fans a new Air Jordan 12 to look forward to in the fall.

According to sneaker leak account @zSneakerheadz, the Air Jordan 12 “Dark Concord” will be stocked on shelves starting on Oct. 17 for a retail price of $190 in men’s sizes. At the time of press, Jordan Brand has yet to share release details surrounding this pair but talk on social media suggests it’s expected to be available on the Nike SNKRS app and at select retailers on release day.

The sneaker features a predominately black color scheme on the nubuck upper with textured overlays serving as the mudguard. Where this iteration gets its name is due to the dark purple accents on the metal eyelets, the Jumpman logo on the tongue and heel’s pull tab. The look rounds out with a black foam midsole concealing a carbon shank plate along with a rubber outsole for traction.

Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 12 debuted in 1996 and was a sneaker that MJ was wearing during a pivotal moment in his illustrious NBA career: the “Flu Game.” Prior to Game 5 of the 1996-97 NBA Finals with the Chicago Bulls facing off against the Utah Jazz, Jordan came down with flu-like symptoms — but that didn’t stop him on the court. MJ scored 38 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists while playing through a 103-degree fever in a black and red iteration of the shoe.
