Addison Rae can officially add "podcast star" to her resume. The 19-year-old TikToker just released the first episode of her new podcast, "Mama Knows Best" with her mom, Sheri Nicole on Spotify.

"Mama Knows Best is a weekly podcast where Addison and her mom will provide "an intimate and authentic look," into their lives and relationship, according to a press release. On the first episode of the podcast, the mother/daughter pair dove into Addison's upbringing and her eventual move to LA last year.

Addison revealed that her parents actually got divorced when she was younger and were on-and-off for most of her childhood. Because of that, her family moved around a lot, from Louisiana to Texas and then back to Louisiana. At one point, their family even lived out of a camper that had "one main room and a bunkbed."

Finally, in 2017, Addison's father, Monty, and Sheri got remarried. In 2019, Addison graduated high school and was planning to go to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in the fall to study broadcast journalism. To save money on a dorm and a meal plan, Addison's family decided it would make more sense for them to all move to Baton Rouge as well so Addison could live at home while attending college.

It was around this time, though, that Addison got into TikTok. She downloaded the app in July 2019, and while she started getting popular quickly, the family didn't think much of it. "We didn't even consider it like, 'blowing up, oh my gosh,' because we just didn't know what it was or what it held," Addison said on the podcast.

Addison noticed something was up, though, when she got to LSU. During orientation week, people started recognizing her. "They were like, 'Oh my gosh, my sister follows you on TikTok,'" she said.

Soon after, Addison explained that she decided she had to move to LA to further her career. Of course, she had to convince her parents, who had just moved to Baton Rouge for her to go to school.

"After a while [my dad] was like, 'You know what, whatever. If you really believe that you're going to do this and you're going to make it work and you have a plan, do it. I believe in you, I trust you.'" Addison explained that both of her parents were extremely supportive so she moved to LA. It became clear however, that she needed her parents there, so she asked them to move out there and in just a week, they had joined her.

"When we moved out here collectively as a family, that's when things really started sky rocketing," she said. Of course, now Addison's entire family is famous in their own right. "I mean it's true, the rest was history."

The story was a rare look into Addison's personal life, something she's usually more quiet about. From the looks of it, we will continue to get these exclusive looks into Addison and Sheri's life, both before and after TikTok, on their new podcast.
