6 attorneys named as candidates to replace retiring Palm Beach County Circuit Court judge

Six Palm Beach County attorneys, including two judges, on Tuesday were tapped as possible replacements for Circuit Judge Janis Brustares Keyser, who is retiring on June 30.

County Judges John Parnofiello and Melanie Surber again made the short list for an opening on the circuit bench. Delray Beach Assistant City Attorney Lawonda Warren and Assistant Attorney General Stephanie Tew were also recommended by a local judicial nominating commission.

Two civil lawyers were also on the list that was sent to Gov. Ron DeSantis.

West Palm Beach commercial litigators Alex Braunstein and Santo DiGangi got the nod. Braunstein works at Fox Rothschild while DiGangi practices at Critton, Luttier & Coleman.

DeSantis has 60 days to name Keyser’s replacement.
