2020-21 All-Berks girls swimming and diving team
Apr. 9—KAITLYN BITTING WILSON SR. — Swam on PIAA Class 3A champion 400 free relay team, seventh-place medley relay team and earned eighth-place state medal in 200 IM.
Amalia Bradburn Wilson Sr.: Swam on PIAA Class 3A championship 400 free relay team.
Emily Cherrie Wilson Jr.: Swam on 200 free relay team that earned PIAA Class 3A seventh-place medal.
Saphia Elkhyati Wilson Jr.: CPL champion and District 3 Class 3A runner-up had top diving average in county of 240.21 points.
Sydney Gring Muhlenberg So.: Won second straight PIAA Class 3A silver medal in 100 butterfly and placed fourth in 200 IM. Won District 3 titles in fly and IM, setting a Berks record in the fly.
Hannah Hurleman Exeter Jr.: Earned PIAA Class 3A medals for finishing fifth in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free. Won District 3 title in 50 free and swam on district-championship 200 medley relay team.
Ella Kahn Wilson Jr.: Swam on PIAA Class 3A medal-winning medley and 200 free relay teams.
Shelby Kahn Wilson Sr.: Won PIAA Class 3A gold medal in 200 free and led off state championship 400 free relay team. Finished fourth in the state in the 500 free after winning District 3 titles in the 200 and 500 free.
Lauren Ramsey Exeter So.: Swam backstroke leg on District 3 Class 3A championship medley relay team and earned district bronze medal in 100 backstroke.
Megan Unruh Exeter So.: Earned PIAA Class 3A silver medal in 200 free and placed seventh in 500 free. Had top breaststroke time of season in Berks.
Morgan Valeriano Wilson So.: Swam backstroke leg of PIAA Class 3A seventh-place medley relay team.
Rylee Wenzel Wilson Sr.: Anchored PIAA Class 3A gold-medal winning 400 free relay, earned seventh-place medals in medley and 200 free relays and placed eighth in 50 free.
Swimmer of the Year
Shelby Kahn, Wilson
Wilson senior Shelby Kahn had a golden finish to her high school swimming career.
Kahn captured the PIAA Class 3A gold medal in the 200-yard freestyle, then swam the opening leg on the Wilson girls 400 freestyle relay team that earned a state championship.
In between, Kahn placed fourth in the 500 free and swam the anchor leg on the 200 free relay team that finished seventh, giving her four state medals this season. She was voted the Berks County Swimmer of the Year.
Kahn, who will attend Penn State in the fall, also won District 3 Class 3A gold medals in the 200 and 500 free each for the third straight year.
Diver of the Year
Saphia Elkhyati, Wilson
Saphia Elkhyati was the dominant diver in Berks County this season.
Elkhyati, a junior, had a Berks-best 240.21 scoring average and was named the Berks County girls Diver of the Year.
Elkhyati won the Central Penn League championship and was the District 3 Class 3A runner-up.
